What is child abuse?
Physical abuse is nonaccidental trauma or injury casued by beating, kicking, punching, biting, burning, or otherwise harming a child. Physical abuse is the most visibal form of child maltreatment. In 2005, 3.3 million alleged cases of child abuse were reported to local Child Protective Services (CPS). 899,000 of these child were determined to be victims of child abuse. 1,460 of these children died due to child abuse.If you suspect a child is being abuse, call your local Child Protective Services (CPS). If you are the one causeing physical abuse, enroll in anger management and instead of hitting your child, give yourself a few minutes to calm down and call someone to talk to.
