November News
A thankful note
November has been an extra special month at LLC. As we become more comfortable in our daily routines, we get to slow down and be more present, thoughtful, and reflective of our good fortunes. I for one am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful staff. The hard work continues to persist and it is ever so evident in our student outcomes. I look forward to what's yet to come!

Gabby's birthday!
This month we celebrated Gabby's birthday! The staff had cupcakes and some classrooms made her a homemade card and delivered her candy! Thanks for all you do, Gabby!
Thankful notes
This month, each class had many discussions on what they were thankful for. As a culminating activity, every class decorated one large feather to show their gratitude. We are thankful for all of our creativity!
Rock climbing turkey goals
This month teachers set up turkey activities in the gym. This activity was all about goal setting. The higher you climb, the more turkeys you can reach!
A special thanks to the Morris Education Foundation
This summer, the Morris Education Foundation provided Lafayette Learning Center Preschool with this amazing bike path! The students are loving it! Thank you to the Morris Education Foundation for their continued support!
Carrot Picking at Grow It Green
This month we went carrot picking with Ms. Tina at our very own Grow It Green farm. Ask your child about this experience and how they are enjoying these ongoing visits to the farm!

A reminder from Nurse Mary
By law, all preschoolers must have an annual flu shot by December 31st in order to attend school from January through the end of the flu season. After your child gets his/her flu shot, please give your paperwork to Nurse Mary so that she can mark her list accordingly. Those without flu shots in January will NOT be able to attend. No bus, no school, no kidding!
We want to see your child in school every day. Thanks for attending to that flu shot!
Holiday Activities and Celebrations
At LLC Preschool, we feel it is important to take into account the many different perspectives on holidays and what they mean to the communities, families, and children that we serve in our school. We know that these special occasions have cultural and personal meaning. This year we'd like to decorate our school with a representation that is relevant to the cultures in the community with activities that accurately reflect what is celebrated at home. We strongly feel that valuing the cultural lives of children and teachers send a strong message to each child about his/her personal value as a member of the classroom group while simultaneously providing lessons about valuing cultural similarities and differences in the community. We welcome your input and ideas as we strive to demonstrate a comprehensive view during this celebratory time. Please feel free to share your traditions with your classroom teachers or reach out to our office anytime.
