Ms. Sessa:

We will begin Unit Four, The American Revolution, when students return after the break. Topics for the week will include life in the Georgia colony during the “Royal Years” and the beginnings of trouble between England and her colonies.

Ms. Salazar:

Students took the Ch 8 Test today.

Next week we will start Ch 9 (The Colonization of GA).

No homework over fall break.

Mrs. Coleman:

Our Chapter 8 exam is scheduled for Tuesday October 6th. A study guide was posted last week. The answer key will also be posted on the Planner in Its Learning. Students should be writing an outline of their summative essay BEFORE they come into class to take the exam. Essay: Spain and England had many interest in exploration of North America. Explain two of the reasons for their desire to claim lands on this continent.

Mrs. Holmes (Advanced):

We have concluded our study of force and motion while building roller coasters. The presentations were creative and very well done! There is no homework over Fall Break- enjoy your time! When we come back we will continue talking about Kinetic and Potential Energy before we begin our unit on Work and Power.

Mr. McCormack, Mr. Kinneer, and Mrs. Holmes:

We have concluded our discussion of Newton's Laws with a summative on Friday. The students do not have homework over Fall Break! Enjoy your family time! We will begin our discussion about balanced and unbalanced forces along with energy when we return! Have a great week off!

Ms. Pitner and Mrs. Black:

Students wrapped up this week with lots of equations review. On Friday, they took an online quiz to help gauge their learning. Many students came in for extra help this week and that seems to make a big difference. This concept will continue to be important as we move into Pythagorean Theorem and volume upon our return. We will do our Cheez-its activity on the Monday we get back from fall break. So, if you are still able to make a Cheez-its donation on Monday, October 5th, it would be greatly appreciated! Have a wonderful and relaxing fall break!!!

Mrs. Cooper:

Accelerated/Advanced Math – Cooper – Please check the class website for all assignments (ie. homework, class work, and assessments).

Ms. Pacheco:

We are just about half way through Unit 2. We’ve covered the majority of the vocabulary already, but we still have to get to the “hard” part of the unit. We’ll be dealing with the grammatical concepts and that has always proven to be difficult. Please your encourage your student to be in contact with me for any help sessions. Happy Fall Break!

Ms. Campos:

Students are making great progress! They are writing sentences and expressing them in class. We will continue with more communicative practice and culture studies.
