IMPORTANT 2015-16 REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Parents, if you are planning to enroll a sibling of a current CKS student, you must attend registration on November 16th. If you know of someone interested in CKS and would like to schedule a tour or a time for their child to shadow, please contact Kim Thompson kthompson@ckslex.org. Thank you!

FALL BREAK...

Fall break will be this Thursday & Friday, October 15 &16. School will also not be in session the following Monday, October 19th, when teachers will be attending the Diocesan in-service.

CANS FOR CASH

Christ the King is participating in “Cans for Cash,” a city-wide competition sponsored by LFUCG to see which schools can bring in the most aluminum beverage cans for recycling. We are paid by the pound for all the cans we collect, plus we have a chance to earn a share of the prize money for the top collecting schools.


When: October 19 - November 13, 2015

CKS STUDENTS SAY "NO" TO DRUGS! RED RIBBON WEEK, 10/26 - 10/30

Monday: Stomp Out Drugs! Wear a red CKS shirt, uniform pants and your favorite boots!

Mix It Up at Lunch Day

A national program to encourage students to make new friends at lunch.

Tuesday: Lei Off Drugs! Wear a Hawaiian shirt with uniform pants.

--

Wednesday: Put a Cap on Drug Use! Wear a cap with your uniform.

--

Thursday: Team Up Against Drugs! Wear your favorite team’s shirt or jersey with uniform pants.

Trunk-or-Treat (PreK-3 – 5th): Pizza starting at 6:30 p.m. Hehman Hall, followed by trunk-or-treating in the parking lot.

Friday: Say Boo To Drugs! Wear a Halloween-themed shirt with uniform pants.

Halloween Concert at 10:00 a.m. in the gymnasium

TRUNK OR TREAT

Come in Costume!!

(for ages PreK3 to 5th grade)


Date: Thursday, October 29, 2015


Place & Time:

6:30-7:15pm Pizza dinner in Hehman Hall (cheese pizza, cookies, water)

7:15-7:30pm “Trunk-or-Treating” in the back parking lot

Cost: $10.00 per family


“Trunk or Treat” are cars set up in the parking lot to let children go from car to car, trick or treating. Special Treat Bags will be handed out at the last car. Park in the back lot by the school gym/cafeteria if you plan on handing out candy (you will need to bring your own bags of candy to hand out). Park in the front school parking lot (Cochran Road side) if you are not handing out candy.

SUPER SATURDAYS

Parents, are you anticipating your children’s cabin fever this winter? Educators, do you want to share an exciting opportunity for students? Here is some information about Super Saturdays classes in Bowling Green and Louisville.


The Center for Gifted Studies, WKU Winter 2015-16 Super Saturdays will take place February 7, 14, 21, and 28 in Bowling Green on the WKU campus, and in Louisville at the Kentucky Science Center. Super Saturdays are for high-ability, high-interest students in grades 1-8. FAMILY CHANGES GROUP

The Family Changes Group is intended for CKS students in grades 2-8 whose parents are divorced or separated. The group will explore topics related to divorce and separation, via children's books and conversation. The group meets Thursdays from 3:00-3:45 p.m. in the Guidance office.
