What is it?
Tourette syndrome is a disorder that in the nervous system and starts in early childhood. It involves unusual movements or unwanted sounds that can't be controlled (Tics). For instance, you may repeatedly blink your eyes, shrug your shoulders, or jerk your head. in some cases, you might unintentionally blurt out offensive words.

Causes of the Tic
Genetics-inherited disorder. the specific genes involved T.S. are still being defined, although one genetic mutation has been identified a rare cause of Tics.
Brain Abnormalities- certain chemicals in the brain that transmit nerve impulses (neurotransmitters) play a role, including Dopamine, and Serotonin
Long Term Effects from Disease
Starts between 2-12 with 7 being the average age of showing the disorder
Symptoms- repeated sounds, words or movements.
Treatments for Disorder
Although there is no cure, you can still live a normal life span with Tourrette syndrome.
