NCVPS ESPAÑOL 3 Honors
WEEK 4, JULY 8 - 12
with Sra. Beverly Myers
Week 4
This week we are working on Unit 4, La Tierra. Students need to note that this Unit has 5 lessons and they will be working and completing 5 lessons this week. Just a reminder students only have to attend one RLC every two weeks, but are encouraged to attend more than one if they want to. Students should already have all assignments completed and submitted through the end of Unit 3. I am currently communicating with all parents about student progress in Spanish 3. Please speak with your student and make sure he or she has completed all assignments through Unit 3 this past Friday. In addition, students will be doing a Final project for Unit 3/4 this week where they combine the two units. Please encourage your student to contact me if they have questions or need ideas. Below is a list of what is due by this Friday, July 12.
Closing of Units 1-4 on Friday, July 19
In an announcement I have asked all students to copy and paste, fill in his/her name and text/email me the statement below about the closing of the Getting Started Unit and Units 1-4 on Friday, July 19:
I , _____________________ understand that in out Spanish class, all work in Weeks 1-4 (Getting Started Unit and Units 1-4) must be turned in by Friday, July 19 @ 11:55pm as these assignments will close. I understand that there will be no extensions to this deadline. Any missing assignments will calculate as 0s permanently.
RLC Schedule for Units 4/5
Students have 3 opportunities to attend an RLC for Units 4/5 this week and 2 next week. My RLC for Units 4/5 is Monday, July 15 @ 8pm.
Culture Cafe sessions
One of the assignments students must complete for our course is to attend one Culture Cafe session. The session can be about any country. It does not have to be about a Spanish speaking country. Students have 1 opportunity to attend a Culture Cafe this week. I will be teaching an RLC about my trip to Cuba on Thursday evening, July 11, @ 7pm. Encourage your student to attend!
Peer Tutor Center
If/when a student needs additional help, he/she should first ask me, the teacher. If I'm not available and it's a quick question, he/should should take advantage of the NCVPS Peer Tutoring Center. If more serious content tutoring/remediation is needed, the student/s can request one-on-one tutoring with me and/or a peer tutor. If a student is weary, nervous, and/or conscientious about taking the class online, he/she can request a Virtual Buddy from the NCVPS Peer Tutoring Center for moral support, technical assistance, and more.
