Ninth Grade News

Week of January 6

Dear Daniel Ninth Families,

It was wonderful to welcome students back to school today and begin the second semester!

Each January, we begin the pre-registration process for the upcoming school year. Prior to asking students to make course selections, we will host a series of activities to support them in their academic planning.

The AHS Virtual Info Expo will be held on Monday, January 11 at 6:30 pm. AHS Administrators and Counselors invite students and parents to attend this virtual event where we will discuss graduation requirements, course offerings, endorsement pathways, etc. We will also share links to informational videos that outline specific courses and programs offered at AHS.

A link to this virtual event will be emailed to parents on Monday, January 11. Save the date... we hope you'll join us as we begin the academic planning process for the 2021-2022 school year!

Report cards will be viewable in Parent Portal on Friday, January 7. See the link below if you need directions for accessing your student's report card.

We are thankful for your partnership and are looking forward to another great week of Growing Greatness!

COVID Health and Safety Reminders

As we move into cold and flu season and begin to see an uptick in positive COVID-19 cases amongst our students and staff, please be reminded of the health and safety protocols in Aledo ISD's Return to Learn Plan:

  • Parents of all students must screen children for symptoms and take the temperature of each of their children before their child attends school every day. Students who have an elevated temperature above 100.4 OR have any COVID-related symptoms must report the symptoms to their campus nurse and stay home. Please do not send students to school with symptoms. For Daniel Ninth Grade, our nurse is Danielle Barnes (

  • All students shall wear face coverings at all times while on Aledo ISD property that social distancing, maintaining six feet of distance, is not possible. Face coverings should cover both the nose and mouth of the user.

Aledo ISD COVID-19 Dashboard

Aledo ISD is tracking COVID-19 cases within our school Community. To do this we need your help – if your child ever tests positive for COVID-19 or shows symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or has close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please click this link to complete our AISD COVID Reporting form. Our data will only be as accurate as what is reported to us. Please help us keep our entire community healthy and safe by providing this information as soon as it becomes known to you. Staff Spotlight

Mr. Chad Barry - World History

Another teacher who’s been at DNG from the start, Coach Barry has taught for 19 years and teaches World History. A graduate of Tarleton State, he is also the AHS Head Baseball Coach. Simply put, he was inspired to teach because he likes to help kids! It’s no surprise that his favorite book is Movement Over Maxes: Developing The Foundation for Baseball Performance by Zach Dechant. Coach Barry enjoys fishing and hiking in the mountains and dreams of a vacation in Alaska. If he had a superpower, it would be the ability to fly.
