Everyone needs a change now and then….. especially children at school! It is so stressful to need a change of clothes during the school day and not have anything to wear. Add this to you or your older child’s bedtime routine- Check that they have a change of clothes in their backpack every day so they don’t have to worry when bad things happen.
Donations: If you are cleaning out those closets for the new year, we will gladly accept gently used and comfortable shorts, legging, sweatpants, etc. All sizes, boys or girls. No shirts needed at this time. Thank you!
Tips from Coach Bearden
How much sodium and sugar should we have???
On average, U.S. kids aged 2–19 consume more than 3,100 milligrams of sodium every day—over twice the recommended sodium intake for children and well over the adult recommendations, too. Children aged 2–18 consume an average of 19 teaspoons of added sugar per day (compared to the recommended upper limit of 6). This intake equates to roughly 17% of kids’ total calories and 65 pounds of sugar per year! Here are a few helpful tips to reduce salt and sugar intake.
1. Go fresh
2. Check labels
3. Be mindful of condiments
4. Watch out for bread
