Monday Matters
Week of Sep. 12-16
Hi Shark Family,
We will have our Parent Information Night this Thursday. Please attend this virtual meeting to learn about expectations for your student's grade level. You should have received, or will soon receive a link to join. Times are listed below.
Mico Rhines
Principal
Thank you for joining us for Grandparent's day. Photo link below:
We were so happy to have an abundance of participation for Grandparents Day. We received more emails than anticipated at the grandparents lunch so Ms. Patterson is not going to send the pictures by email? The link is below. She also posted pictures on our website & our Facebook page. You can download pictures from any of these sources.

Things to Know
TJLE Library...
Our library is excited to welcome you back to the 22-23 school year. We encourage you to partner with us to continue to create a community of readers. If at any time you would like to set parameters on books your child can check out, or if you have any questions about our library, please call our librarian Holly Riggs at 817-299-6949 or email at hollyriggs@misdmail.org. We look forward to reading our way through 22-23!
Party invitations will only be passed out to the whole class or for girl/boy specific parties. Our goal is to never make students feel excluded. This is our practice at Thelma Jones. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to me, Mrs. Rhines, directly.
You may send treat bags for your student's birthday. Treat bags will be passed out at the end of the day and sent home with students. Ideas for treat bags include: stickers, pencils, small party favors, and wrapped candy. You may not bring food for your student's birthday. Things like cupcakes and cookies will not be accepted.
When having lunch with your student, please be mindful that you may only eat with your student in the designated area. I know it's nice to meet your child's friends, but we are not allowed to put other students in your care without parent permission. Once lunch is over, you will need to checkout in the front. No visitors on the playground.
You must provide a valid ID each time you come to the office, even if we've scanned your license. This is a safety expectation.

We Are Celebrating International Dot Day Friday, September 16th!!!
I am very excited to announce that we are going to celebrate International Dot Day here at TJE. On Friday, September 16th during enrichment time, we will be reading the book The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. We will then be playing games with dots in the gym and be creating dot masterpieces. This should be a fun day intended to spark creativity in our students. I am asking that our students come to school dressed in as many dots as they can on that Friday. Please remember to bring tennis shoes for gym. If you have never heard of Dot Day check it out on the internet. This simple idea has sparked creativity across the world. I look forward to sharing this day with your students. Thanks. Mrs. Allen
Looking forward to the Wonderfall festival coming up in October!
