Destination Imagination Essential Items Drive
The DI teams will be collecting essential items (shampoo, toothpaste, soaps, etc.) this week as a Lenten offering to restock the DI Cabin of God's Love housed outside of Our Lady of the Wayside. Please send in any essential items (travel size and full sizes accepted) any day between now and April 6th. The Cabin of God's Love was a Destination Imagination service project created by a FAW DI team in 2019. The "Cabin" is stocked with donated items for those visiting the food pantry to take what they need, at no cost. FAW DI proudly support this effort on a continual basis year after year. Thank you for supporting our DI teams and our community in this way!
Please contact Mrs. Cacko at cacko@fatherandrewwhite.org with any questions.

These are the teams that have been invited to compete at the Globals Final competition: 7th grade (Fuzz) Wonders, 6th grade The Things, and the 3rd/4th grade team, the DI 1ders! We are so proud of all of the students' performances on Saturday at the State Tournament. Thank you to all of the families for their support, and especially for all of the Team Managers and volunteers for their tireless efforts in leading these students through a great learning experience! Monthly Virtue: Obedience
Our school continues to participate in the Virtues in Practice program this year. Each month, the whole school focuses on the same virtue as they hope to grow closer to Jesus by imitating His life and virtues. They also learn more about the saints who exemplify these good habits. This month we are learning about the virtue of obedience. Please join us during the month of April by modeling how you say "yes" to the loving Will of God and to those He has set over us.
Thank you to Becky Anderson for coordinating this Lottery Fundraiser for us!
Faith Rally!
Faith Rally is TUESDAY, April 18th! All students are invited to wear their home-made or best faith shirt (with uniform bottoms) for the "Wear Your Faith T-shirt" contest! (Girls with jumpers can either wear their faith shirt over the jumper or under.) Plan to gather up some non-perishable items and send them in on Tuesday, Faith Rally day so we can support our Food Pantry. Get ready for a great day of faith and fun! We can't wait to celebrate our faith with the students! #Thywordisalampuntomyfeet

Do you know what your body's largest organ is? If you guessed your skin, you're absolutely right! Unfortunately, because it's so big, it is vulnerable to all kinds of problems. Many things cause our skin to become dry and cracked, such as frequent hand washing and exposure to cold, dry winter air. This can lead to chapped lips, nosebleeds, itchiness, and exacerbation of other conditions like eczema. Humidifiers and moisturizers are often helpful for these things, but now that warmer weather is here we have a whole new set of potential skin problems: bug bites and stings, poison ivy, sunburn, contact allergies, heat rash, blisters and scrapes, fungal and bacterial infections, etc. Plus, there are issues that come about regardless of time of year, and several that are contagious, such as impetigo and molluscum. Generally, when a child complains of an itchy or painful area on their skin, I recommend first cleansing it and trying to determine the cause. Always discourage scratching, which can lead to infection, and instead use cold compresses, "itch medicine," or even just tapping on the area instead of scratching (something I just learned from a co-worker!). Since there's a multitude of conditions that affect the skin, it may become necessary to contact a doctor, especially if a problem persists or gets worse. Remember, our skin is our largest organ, and our first line of defense, so we have to take care of it!
