Why I Love Saint Rita!
The week began on Sunday with the 40th Annual Saint Rita International Fair. I was pleased to see so many Saint Rita school and parish families on campus sharing in the gifts of the community: great food, entertainment, games, and fellowship. The rain held off for most of the day to provide for a successful fair.
Our week continued with Facebook posts from the Eighth Graders' "Students of Saint Rita" series. If you haven't checked it out yet, do so here: https://www.facebook.com/StRitaFW/ and share our Facebook page with your friends.
Midweek, students in pre-k and kindergarten brought in donations of beans and rice wrapped in baby blankets as part of the "Pounder Project" with Catholic Charities. Students brought in beans and rice that weighed the same amount as they did at birth. The donations will be given to refugee families who work with Catholic Charities Fort Worth.
On Friday, the students and staff of Saint Rita Catholic School and Church came together to celebrate the high school graduation of Daniela Espinoza, a former student who has battled cancer since she was very young. We are so proud of Daniela's accomplishments, her faith, and her creativity that she shares with everyone she encounters.
Saturday morning, I had another chance to observe members of the Saint Rita family come together to shine. When the 8th graders' competitors didn't arrive for a 10 a.m. volleyball game, parents and teachers decided to take on the 8th grade. It was a delight to see everyone come together for some fun, exercise, and a little competition. The diocesan volleyball game was rescheduled for 1 p.m., and our 8th grade Wildcats were victorious!
I have included photos of the week in review. I would love to hear back from you about #WhyILoveSaintRitaFW on Facebook or Twitter @SaintRitaFW or by reply to this email.
Thank you to everyone at Saint Rita for working to make this faith community a strong family that collaborates to foster character, academic excellence, and joy in each day.
Have a blessed week.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Mary Burns
