Our Last Week!

What people remember is how you finish. How you finish is how you are remembered and is where your reputation is made. "It doesn't matter how you start, what matters is how you finish." ~ Andy Andrews

Team, during our last week of the 2014-2015 academic year we will continue with our CVM traditions by honoring our students. Our eighth graders have earned the privilege to enjoy their scheduled activities again this year. Let’s remember to keep our students focused and engaged in instruction and reflections as they participate in different activities!

We will have our annual awards ceremonies to recognize our student yearlong accomplishments. This is a very proud occasion for our parents and students, we want to recognize them and encourage their continued outstanding achievement. We will have two programs, one for each grade level. The dates and time are listed below in my Week at a Glance.

I asked that the last week of school be minimum days because I want to give you the opportunity to meet in PLCs. During your PLC meetings you should review your Final Exam data and discuss students’ areas of strengths and challenges for next year. Please reflect on the new lessons that were presented, the new routines that were implemented, and the interventions that were provided. What worked? What do we need to work on? It is critical we focus our efforts on identifying student challenges in preparing our students for the next school year. We must continue to remain focused and keep our students on task until the very end. We will make the difference in our students’ success!

Finally, these last five days are going to speed by everyone so please commit to making them count. Let’s all feel great about what we’ve accomplished so far this year…it’s been amazing…but we’re not done yet! We need everyone to be involved in the end of the year activities! We owe it to our students. They want to see you at the awards ceremony and promotion.

Let us finish STRONG! We are a Team!

Make it a GREAT week!

Yours Truly,

Julissa

Ms. Galvin,

Thank you for the 31 years that you have given to the Chula Vista Middle community! We value and admire everything that you have done for CVM in general and for our students in particular. You have always been encouraging, enthusiastic, and supportive. You made working with you an absolute pleasure, both because of your passion for our school and because of your kindness. We are so happy that you'll be retiring and pursuing fun endeavors, but at the same time, we will miss you deeply. Know that your work has been greatly appreciated, and that you've made a difference here.
