Distance Learning Update Week 1, Volume 2
A slightly smaller newsletter....
A few things to note...
Some people when they got logged into Chrome everything was good to go and for some it was asking for logins. I'm going to include all the codes you need for Epic and Seesaw below. If you need your child's IXL login, I will send that to you individually.
You will know your child is logged into Google Chrome when you see their bookmarks bar across the top and their first initial in the top right corner of the screen.
Seesaw, Epic, Flipgrid
Seesaw: If your child is not automatically logged it, then select "Log in with Google" Their google account should pop up, but if not enter the Google logins I emailed out yesterday. Then it will ask for a class code. That code is: QCDX KCRM
FlipGrid: When you click the bookmark, if you are not logged in, select "REMEMBER ME" FIRST and then click login with Google.
Google Classroom Update
A note about assignments in Google Classroom. Once your child has completed a task, they need to go into Classroom and "turn in" the assignment. This particularly applies when they are taken to an outside link.
Morning Check In will be up for students everyday at 7 am and my goal is that it is turned in by 9:30 am each day. This check in gives me insight into how they are doing and also will serve as our "attendance" that I'm required to collect. My families with limited technology access will have an alternative for attendance purposes.
Enrichment
Third grade's will be updated today based on what the general education teachers are offering.
There are also tester assignments for both Seesaw and Flipgrid available to the students now for everyone to practice and see how they work. I'll be recording my Flipgrid response to the question today.
Digital Citizenship
All students had training in Digital Citizenship at the beginning of the year. Now might be a good time to review that, particularly when your students are making videos or voice recordings. I will be relying on you as parents to help monitor your child's appropriate use of technology. If you need resources on this, I would be happy to send some materials to you.
IT Support
If you are still struggling getting logged in, don't worry! I am also your IT support! I can work with you through screen shots, videos, etc! We will figure it out!
