Prestwick LEarns: Building a Legacy
We are very excited to share that this upcoming week on Thursday, Oct. 17th, seventh grade students who are zoned to attend Walker Middle School will visit the construction site and be able to sign a beam. These seventh graders will be the legacy group that is the very first 8th grade class at Walker Middle School. We are thankful to Balfour Beaty for allowing this memorable event. Please see the permission slip your student brought home and return it on Wednesday.
On November 22nd the legacy seventh grade students for Strike Middle School will be able to have the same experience. Authentic experiences such as this build excitement for a great time to be LOBO in LEISD.
If you have questions of what campus your child will attend next year please use the zone finder to assist you! Find Your School (In this link, input the student's address and search. Then click the colored area next to their house to see what school they are zoned for)

Staff Spotlight
This week our spotlight is on our amazing art teacher, Mrs. Lester. She teaches our K-5 students and middle school art electives and is new to the Prestwick FamiLE. Here is what she has to say about herself:
Hi Prestwick Families! I am so excited to be teaching art to your kids this year! I live in Castle Hills with my husband of 25 years and our two dogs. I studied art at Mississippi State University, Sam Houston State University, and the Scottsdale Artists School. I taught art for 8 years at Taylor Elementary in Frisco ISD. When I am not teaching or creating, I love spending time with my family and friends, working out, cooking, and reading. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!

If You Served in the Military, Please Join us for Veteran's Day
Parents, Families and Important People,
Prestwick STEM Academy will be honoring Veteran’s Day on Monday, November 11, 2019. We would like to invite our community Veterans to our campus, to be recognized for the exceptionally meritorious service, commitment and loyalty to the United States of America. We will serve a light appreciation breakfast from 7:50am - 8:05am in our café. Afterwards, Veterans are invited to our K-5 classrooms from 8:30am - 9:00am to visit and share a few words about their military service.
For our middle school students (6th-8th), we are currently working to provide a unique experience. Middle school students will be provided the opportunity to sign-up to hear from guest speakers from various military branches during their respected lunch times. Middle school lunches are from 12:05pm - 12:35pm and 12:40pm - 1:10pm.
Please mark the RSVP options below and return to your child’s teacher or front office by Nov. 5th if you are a veteran and are interested in joining us please click on the button below, fill out the form, and return it to school with your child.
Thank you for making our Veteran’s Day a special time to honor the beloved Veterans.
