Yearbooks on sale now!
If you would like to purchase a 2020-2021 Yearbook they are on sale from now until March 5th. The cost of the yearbooks are $20.00 each. 2021 Online Kindergarten Registration Starts March 15
Please note: all families (whether new to the district or with existing students) should begin the kindergarten registration process by using the online registration form located on the PLSD website on March 15.
Kindergarten registration for fall 2021 begins in the district on Monday, March 15 (The link is active now but the dropdown menu for 2021-2022 registration will not be available until the morning of March 15).
Children must be a least 5 years old by August 1, 2021, to be registered for kindergarten this fall. The district offers half-day kindergarten both morning and afternoon sessions. Parents may request a morning or afternoon preference. Depending on the number of parents with preferences, a lottery may be held to determine placement.
The kindergarten registration process begins by filling out the online registration form that goes live on March 15. Access to the kindergarten registration system will be open by approximately 9 a.m. that morning. After completing the application — including uploading required documents — please submit the application. Once submitted, Welcome Center staff will review the application and contact you by email if there is anything else needed.
If all is complete, an email will be sent to the parent stating the application has been approved/Processed, and the paperwork will be forwarded to the appropriate school. Someone from the school will contact you regarding the next steps.
At this time, parents will not be setting up an appointment for a readiness assessment. Those assessments will be scheduled at a later date still to be determined.
Parents are advised that, due to the high number of calls, our staff and phone lines at the Welcome Center may be very busy at the beginning of kindergarten registration. We appreciate your patience!

H.O.P.E Food Bags are still available
Violet Baptist Church offers a Weekend Food Program. This program was created to help those families in need of meals for their children over the weekend. This is offered to our students for FREE. Each student in the house is eligible. Students will take their bags home on either Monday or Thursday, depending on which hybrid day they are here. If your student is VLA and would like to participate, you will pick up the bag(s) from the school on Thursday or Friday. Please reach out to Kendra Stewart, School Counselor by phone at 614-548-1431 or email at kendra_stewart@plsd.us in order to sign up.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children ages birth until 5 years old, no matter their family’s income. These books are typically sent out on a monthly basis. According to readingrockets.org, reading books aloud to children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It helps them develop language and listening skills and prepares them to understand the written word. If you are interested in signing up or learning more about this program click here.
Fee Reminder
A reminder to those who haven’t paid your student fees for the 2020-2021 school year, please do so as soon as possible.
Each year the district assesses a fee to all students for supplies and consumable materials. The deadline for paying fees has passed. To make a payment, log in to your Parent Portal on Infinite Campus. You may also send a check to the school with your student made payable to Pickerington Local Schools or PLSD. To ensure proper posting, please reference your student's name and student ID. If school fees are not paid, it will result in grades and transcripts being held until payment is received.
Here are the fees for each grade level:
Kindergarten - $19.00
First Grade - $17.00
Second Grade - $17.50
Third Grade - $22.00
Fourth Grade - $23.50
