NEW FOSSIL FOUND AT AMMS!
Be the Paleontologist!
STEP 1
A new fossil has been located under the field at AMMS. Your job is to arrange the fossils in order with the OLDEST fossils at the bottom and NEWEST fossils at the top.
USE THE CHART BELOW TO HELP ARRANGE
NOTE: Upper means it is newer, Lower means older.
NOTE: Just like an actual fossil record, there will be missing fossils.
STEP 2
While keeping the fossils in the proper age order, arrange them by morphology (appearance). To help you understand the morphology of the specimen, view the diagram. Arrange the fossils using the following steps.
NOTE: Through the chart, those fossils that appear to be the same (or close to the same) as the fossils preceding them should be placed in a vertical line
STEP 3
Place the fossil where you believe it belongs in the fossil record.
