Happy Friday!
Fraser Communication - Return to School Next Steps
Hello Fraser Families,
I hope everyone had a good holiday break and took some time to relax and come in to this week refreshed. I appreciate everyone’s understanding and support as we moved forward with our elementary class realignment and the addition of a half day of synchronous learning on Friday for all levels.
The MDHHS Pause to Save Lives order ends on December 8th, and we know you may have questions. Below is important information regarding the district’s next steps.
The district plans on having Face-to-Face Instruction at all buildings starting on Wednesday, December 9th. We understand this could change if the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services announces new orders prior to the 9th. Unless that occurs, we will move forward with K-12 Face-to-Face Instruction for those families who made that selection. If MDHHS extends the closure of high schools, we will still move forward with opening our K-8 buildings, Dooley, and Special Education Services PreK-12.
Important Dates
- Wednesday, December 9th, 2020
- RMS and FHS students will begin the half day schedule. Face-to-face students will attend school in the morning and work asynchronously in the afternoon. Virtual students will work asynchronously in the morning and connect with their teachers in the afternoon.
- Elementary students will begin a full day schedule. Face-to-face students will report to school at their regularly scheduled times. Virtual students will continue to work virtually with their virtual classroom teachers following the daily schedule provided by the district.
- December 10th, 2020
- All Elementary (DK-6) students have a half day with a noon dismissal.
- December 11th, 2020
- All Elementary students have a full day of instruction.
Secondary Building Schedules
Safety Protocols
- Students and staff will be expected to wear a mask during the school day.
- Students do not have to wear masks while eating.
- Masks will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own.
- Please take time to review the Elementary and Secondary Protocols documents shared earlier in the year. They provide important information regarding face-to-face instruction safety protocols and processes. The link to each building's health screener is available in that document as well.
Breakfast and Lunch
We will continue providing free breakfast and lunch for all students. Your building principal will provide details on the process for meal distribution.
Busing
Buses will be running on December 9. You can verify your bus stop location by entering your address on our Bus Stop Locator.
Please continue to work with your child’s teachers and building principal with questions and concerns. Again, I thank you for your patience as we work with our families to do what is best for our students. We are all in this together, and remember to be kind and be flexible during this unprecedented time.
With Fraser Pride,
Ms. Carrie Wozniak
