Classroom Spelling Bees
3rd-5th grade: Please hold a classroom spelling bee in November. There is no set list of words to use for your spelling bee. Email myself and Jayme Kain with your winner and runner-up name. If you are new to this, ask your team how they do it. We will send the district list of words for our school spelling bee home over Thanksgiving break and hold the school spelling bee in December. The district spelling bee will be in January. Have fun and good luck!
Also, we will need judges, word pronouncer, etc. for our school spelling bee. If you are willing to help, please email myself and Jayme Kain. Thanks!
Veterans Day Assembly
Next week during our assembly we will continue our tradition of celebrating our veterans AND also do some house assembly things.
To accomplish this lofty goal for our assembly, we will need to come to the assembly sitting in grade levels because each grade level has a song to sing as we have the veteran family members slideshow playing on the screens. We also of course want to invite our veterans in attendance to stand so we can celebrate them. There are a few small speaking parts that our fifth graders will read during this part of the assembly.
Then we can have a short intermission (thinking maybe playing a song) while we transition from grade levels to our houses. Maybe we can incentivise them by saying whichever house gets together and quiet first gets 5 house points. I can award those points. I know this part will be chaotic as we move and reconfigure, but we can say something like we apologize for the chaos. Then we can do house assembly things.
Please have kids packed and ready before the assembly because we will return to class and it will probably be close to time to leave. To support this plan, Encore teachers please take your third grade students from encore to the cafeteria for our 2 pm start time for the assembly.
Please add your Trusted Trailblazers to this spreadsheet on the November tab!
Please celebrate students who completed their October Reading Challenge and encourage them to complete the November Challenge that just started this week. Thank you! Shout out to Kaitlyn for creating this awesome document for us!
Good afternoon Trailblazers!
On behalf of the Springdale Early Childhood Center, I would like to extend a huge THANK YOU for collecting non-perishable items for our school!! We have many families that utilize our school pantry and it's very difficult to keep it stocked. We are blown away by the amount of items you collected in order to help feed our students and families. We look forward to partnering with you again! The winners will receive sonic drinks on your next snack day in a couple of weeks :).Thank you again for all of your support and your willingness to help our school. I've included a before and after picture of our pantry so you can see just how impactful this was for us!
Have a great weekend!!
***Winners will be announced on Monday's announcements!***
Holiday Cards Commissioner's Memo
Please read this Commissioner's Memo if your school is interested in sending holiday cards to active military members.
Behavior Data Collection
Don't forget to put your behavior data collection forms in the box in my office on top of my white cabinet. The behavior cadre is looking at the data from these each month to determine next steps and support in Tier 1 instruction. Thanks!
Shout Outs!
Mrs. Ramsey: Thank you for helping me rearrange my classroom to help better fit the needs to my students! It has been a tremendous help!
