Welcome to the Prairie Point Panther Press!
Principal's Letter
Dear Prairie Point Families:
We have spent this week celebrating and honoring our AMAZING Prairie Point teachers and staff during Teacher Appreciation Week. I have been very impressed with the number of students and parents who have taken time to recongnize and thank our teachers and staff members. Thank you for making our teachers feel special. I would also like to recongnize our Home and School Association and parent volunteers who went above and beyond to make this week special for the Prairie Point staff. Thank you!
It is hard to believe that we are counting down to the end of the school year. There are a few special events that I would like to make you aware of as we look toward the end of the year.
May 10 - Home and School Tuesday Night Dinner @ Panda Express
May 12 - 5th Grade Musical @ 7pm in the Prairie Point gym
May 18 - Prairie Point Alumni Walk @ 3pm (Celebrating former Prairie Point students who are graduation high school)
May 19 - Bike to School Day
May 20 - Field Day
May 24 - Home and School Tuesday Night Dinner @ Culver’s
May 26 - Last Day of Early Childhood
May 27 - Last Day of School K - 5th Grade
It looks like spring will finally arrive this weekend. I hope that all of our mothers have a wonderful Mother’s Day.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jennifer Groves

Parent Pick up Reminders
Thank you for getting your child picked up on time (by 4:00pm) at the end of each day and pulling all the way up so that we can load more students in and get families home in a timely fashion.
We know many families utilize this line and it can be a long wait, but we appreciate your patience and partnership to keep this process running smooth and allowing for our helpers to keep their main focus on children.
Thank You
Variety Show
Congratulations to all students who participated and showcased their amazing talents in the Variety Show!
What a fun night, everyone did an awesome Job!!
Hello Future 6th Grade Traughber Panthers and Families!
Hello Future 6th Grade Traughber Panthers and Families!
Would it help your student to get a sneak peek at Traughber Junior High before the end of 5th grade? Would it help you? If so, fantastic! Traughber is hosting an Open House event for any incoming 5th grader and parents/guardians. Here are the details:
When: Wednesday, May 11, 2022. Various time slots available
Where: Traughber Junior High School, 570 Colchester Drive, Oswego. Enter Door 4
What: Students will come with a parent/guardian and meet first in our cafeteria for a 15 minute welcome and presentation about our school. After that is done, students/adults will be organized into smaller groups and paired with an 8th grade National Junior Honor Society student to go on a casual tour of our school, hitting the highlights and getting a general orientation of our school. This event is intended to give an overview of our school and generate excitement for next year! In August, there will be ample opportunities for a more detailed orientation and time to walk schedules and orient to our building.
How to sign up: Parents or Guardians can CLICK HERE to sign up. We will run sessions for up to 50 students at a time every 25 minutes from 6:00pm through 7:40pm. The presentation and tour will last about 45 minutes.
Extra Details: If a parent or guardian is not able to come on May 11, but another family or friend is able to bring your student, that is fine. Students shouldn’t come alone, but can group up with another adult if needed. Remember, there will be many options for students to get oriented to Traughber in August.
Finally, if you don’t already have a student at Traughber, please know that you are welcome to join our parent organization, Traughber Connects, for our next meeting as we host informative guest speakers. Please come and help us welcome Courtney DeCarlo & Kristen Rexha from Oswego & Plainfield Wellness as they discuss Anxiety & Depression, Understanding and Managing It on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, from 7:00 - 8:00 PM in the Traughber Junior High's Multi-Purpose Room (MPR). Check out our Traughber Webpage for additional information on this event.
