HIDDEN RIVER HEADLINES 5/31/19
9224 Paradise Lake Road, Snohomish, WA 98290
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Greetings Hidden River Families!
I hope this newsletter finds you well. It's hard to believe that we are heading into the last few weeks of the school year. When we get to June each year, I always find myself wondering how in the world the year flew by so quickly! We've finally wrapped up testing, which is a relief, and are starting to prepare for the end of the year assemblies, awards ceremonies, end of the year field trips, and all of the other events and activities that typically happen this time of year. Please keep an eye out for important dates and pertinent messages that relate to the last few weeks of school.
I wanted to give a special shout out to the kids and our 3 drama production coordinators … Mrs. Chickering, Mrs. Gnojewski, and Ms. Simeoni. What a remarkable performance of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang it was two weeks ago! It was a blast to watch our kids in action as they acted and sang their hearts out. I'm always in awe, every year, as I stand back and watch the kids get into character and execute their production with such persistence and detail. And, most importantly, they always seem to have so much fun in the process! It puts a huge smile on my face each spring to watch each production unfold because these extra curricular opportunities give our kids such a valuable experience, above and beyond what they get by just attending school. Thanks to our 3 coordinators for going the extra mile to help our students create lasting memories and learn things that they will carry with them, well-beyond their time as students here at HRMS. Well done!
I wanted to also let our parents and families know that in the next week or so, you will be receiving an e-mail communication with a link to an important family survey that we are hoping all of our families will take a few minutes to complete. The survey will gather feedback from our parents and families that provides us with valuable information and perspective as we seek to continue to grow and improve as a school. Your participation and honest feedback is important and much appreciated … thank you in advance for participating!
Enjoy the last few weeks of school and please reach out if you have questions, concerns, or need any support as we wrap up the 2018-19 school year. GO HAWKS!

YOUR FEEDBACK IS NEEDED!
We want to hear what you think!
In order for us to continue to improve as a school district and as a school, it is important for us to know how our students and families think we are doing. Your feedback is crucial in helping us understand what you consider our strengths and our opportunities for growth.
Next week we will be asking families to let us know what they think through a survey developed by the Center of Educational Effectiveness. The survey may be filled out online or via a paper copy from the main office. This important survey will be anonymous and will only take about 10 minutes to complete. The survey will be open from Monday, June 3 to Friday, June 14.
In addition to feedback from our families, we also want to hear from our students. Therefore, we will be asking students in grades 4-12 to complete a similar survey during the school day between June 3-14. This survey will be administered by school staff.
We value your input as we strive to continue to improve our school. Thank you in advance for your important feedback!

SAFETY AT HIDDEN RIVER FROM MR. JUDY
ATTENTION PARENTS:
When dropping off your student, they must be dropped at the front of the building, not in front of the portables. The crosswalks are NOT to be used before 1st period or after school.
When picking up your student from school, you must get in line with the other cars and come through to the front of the building where your child will be waiting. If you choose to park and have your child walk to the car, you must walk over to the front of the building and escort the student across the cross walk to your car.
We understand this can be inconvenient, however these instructions are for your student's safety. Since we are sharing the front parking lot with the buses, we do not allow the students to use the cross walk before or after school. Your cooperation in this matter is imperative and no exceptions are allowed.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe.
