3rd Grade Gifted Students Need Help Installing Our Little Free Library!
Are You Handy (or Know Someone Who Is)?
This year, our 3rd grade gifted students completed a project focused on equity in education and ready access to books. The project resulted in our school purchasing a Little Free Library. This is a place where students, families, and people in our community can take a book / leave a book. We invited students to submit design ideas for the library, and Mr. Mitchell helped get the library painted, stained, and looking great. The students are so excited because the Little Free Library is here and ready to be installed
The installation is where we are looking for help. We will need to dig a hole, pour cement, and get the library level in the ground- very similar to how a mailbox would be installed. We will also need the tools necessary for the installation.
Please click the link below if you are able to help us with this (mini construction) project. Thank You! ~Ms. Bennett, Gifted Teacher

The Fort Daniel Running Club is participating in this event, and we would love to have a large Fort Daniel showing at this fun race. The money raised goes to a great cause; it supports the year-round operation of the GCPS Bookmobile program. Early bird registration runs through the end of March so you can register individuals for $25.00 or $18.00 for the shorter Fun Run. In April the prices go up slightly to $28.00. There is a Family Discount for 4 or more runners which is priced at $90.00. Everyone under 18 gets a free book! Come join us at the Bookmobile 5K to run or walk for a great cause!
