Mrs. Buck's Class News 2018-2019
December 17th-21st
Genre Study
Over the next two weeks we will dive into our Genre Study by rotating to each 1st grade classroom to learn about many different genres. At the end of these rotations on
Friday, December 21st we will celebrate our learning in our classroom with an event called "Cozy up with a Good Book".
If you would like to come in and share a favorite book our classroom will welcome guest readers who have a current background check on file in the morning on Friday, December 21st. Just contact me with a few times that work and I will get a schedule together.
Students will get to bring blankets, a stuffed animal and dress in their PJs for this fun day! We will also do a book exchange see below for details! :)
Dear Families,
I’m excited to announce that our classroom will be doing a book exchange to end our Genre Study. This will happen during our “Cozy up with a Good Book “event that will take place in our classroom on Friday, December 21st. As you know reading is so important and what better way to end our genre study than with the kids exchanging their favorite books! Your child should bring in one book (wrapped in fun paper) to exchange with another student. A used favorite book from home will be just great, but please remember it will be a new book to someone else so gently used would be best!
Please send in the book by Wednesday, December 19th. If you have any questions or if you need help in bringing in a book for the exchange just let us know.
Thanks,
Mrs. Buck

Snacks
Snacks in First Grade-
TCE teachers understand the importance of fueling both our students’ minds and bodies; therefore, first grade students may bring in snacks to be eaten mid-afternoon. However, due to allergy concerns, the following procedures must be followed:
· Snacks will NEVER be shared by other students.
· Snacks need to be brought to school with the child. If snacks are forgotten at home, parents do not need to bring the snack to school. If your child forgets their snack, a school-approved snack will be offered to your child.
Snack List:
Goldfish crackers
Skinny Pop Popcorn
Cheese sticks or cubes
Fresh fruit
Veggies
STUDENTS ARE WELCOME TO BRING WATER BOTTLES TOO! :)
