Our entertainment for the night will be a 15 minutes excerpt from the original production titled, 'The Movement, written by the Managing Artistic Director, Ms. Kathy D. Harrison. The Movement has been selected to perform at the 2015 National Black Theatre Festival. We are excited to now bring this story of the young people that marched against racial injustice in Birmingham, Alabama. A critical turning point for the Civil Rights Movement happened as a result of the courage of young people in 1963. This is an acapella musical that honors the legacy of young people protesting during an unsettling time in history.
