No Excuses University -- Assessment
week 5
“Make no judgments where you have no compassion.” – Anne McCaffrey
I believe that this quote means that if you have no compassion with what they are doing then they should not make no judgement towards others who are or are willing to be. If a teacher is not compassionate about his/her job of teaching then that teacher would not really care to work and provide guidance towards students who may need more encouragement and motivation.
“Assessment is not about you as a teacher; it is about your students”
Assessments is about the students because this gathers all information you will make about the student learning skills and style. Assessments are about providing a learning benefit for the student by collecting proper information about the students development skills.
“Defending our Assessment Practices”
These questions could be used as a guide towards me documenting and collecting data into the assessment. Making sure that all information is accurate and going over the data. When asking these questions as you are documenting a assessment you are guiding towards more learning strategies for the students. I have succeeded to make students a partner in assessment when I was a HeadStart teacher and the information I collected as i observed the children play, I observed their interest and what dislikes. i build the information gathered from all students and incorporate it into the curriculum all around the children's interest so learning could be in their interest.
