How to Give a Child CPR
If you notice or it seems to look like your child is choking the first thing to do it to talk to them and tap them gently. If you don't get a response then its time to take action. To begin CPR you place your child on their back.
To start CPR you use 2 to 3 fingers in the center of their chest just below the nipples. Press down about one-third the depth of the chest. Open the airway using a head tilt lifting of the chin. Do not tilt the head back too far or you can cause damage. Give 2 gentle breaths if the baby is still not breathing normally, cover the baby's mouth and nose with your mouth. each breath should be 1 second long. You should see the baby's chest rise with each breath
.
Don't Think it Wont Happen
Thinking your child wont choke is not a good idea. Children are very curious and always try to put new things in their mouth to understand what things are. They will put just about anything in there mouth because they don't know better. Its best to keep precaution and clean up the areas that your child will be in.
