Dear Parents,

As this weekend approaches, we look forward to exciting events here on our parish and school grounds. We are celebrating the second week of Advent, the return of our annual Christmas Boutique in Marian Hall, and our Immaculate Conception School Open House returns from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Enrollment in our Catholic school continues to be a focused priority for us. I would encourage every family to invite at least one neighbor, friend, or relative to come and walk through our building during the Open House. Our teachers will be here, and our eighth-grade Student Ambassadors will assist families as they walk through the building. Our preschool will also be open to prospective families.

Encourage your guests to walk through the school, ask questions, talk to the teachers, and see all that we have to offer. The sense of community along with a high-quality Catholic education remains a significant reason why families come and stay at Immaculate Conception. We have much to be proud of and look forward to having as many prospective and current families here on Sunday as possible.

May the Lord remain with you during this beautiful season of Advent.

Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is now open for families with students currently enrolled in our school. All registrations will be completed through our FACTS Student Information System. To register a new student, go to FACTS and log into your Family Portal. On the left-hand side, expand the "Apply/Enroll" menu. On that menu, click on "Application (New Student)" and follow the on-screen instructions.

The application process is only for new students. Students who are currently enrolled in school do not need to go through the application process.

Join the Immaculate Conception community in the first annual triduum celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Events are planned from Dec 6 through 8 See the above flyer (click on it to enlarge) or the parish website for more information. In the establishment and participation of this annual tradition, through Mary, we hope all parishioners, students, and families grow closer to Jesus and to one another.

We are looking for students in Junior High to volunteer to distribute invitations to parishioners after Masses on December 4 and December 5. We are asking for four school student volunteers per Mass. Mass times are Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. If your child would like to volunteer, please click here to sign up.

Students in 8K were presented with a current community infrastructure issue that was located through the Franklin County Engineer’s Office Website. There are many roads that are being replaced within a specific zone due to damages such as potholes and cracked sidewalks/walkways. The class was able to research the start date of the project as well as the estimated cost. Students were then placed within groups to brainstorm prototype ideas while working towards potential solutions to this community-affected problem. After presenting their ideas, the groups reflected on their project and determined what worked, what they would change, what questions they still have regarding the issue, and additional ideas that they would incorporate to better their prototype. Using the engineer design process allowed students a chance to work through problems towards solutions and think outside of the box.

At Immaculate Conception School, we use the Rennaissance Learning platform for both our Accelerated Reader program and STAR Testing. Rennaissance Learning gives parents the ability to monitor their child's learning in both of these programs. Your child will be bringing home a letter today with a unique username and password that will give you access to this information.
