Bulldog Corner
Special Holiday Edition December 2018
Week 18 Down, 1 to GO
I hope you all enjoy your holiday season and the well deserved 3 week break. Challenge yourself to spread kindness, and do one small task a day. Could be a phone call to a relative, or even a text with an affirmation. A special letter, or just a kind gesture. Most importantly, make sure to take care of yourselves. You have worked tirelessly for 18 weeks to make lives better for students. Please do something for yourself. Let's make this last week count!

Highlighted Staff- Lori Wilson
She graciously opened her doors to welcome everyone over for the Bowman Holiday Party. When you walked in, you instantly felt warmth that made it seem just like home. She was an outstanding host, who was making these delicious chocolate pepperminty drinks for her guests. It was truly a spectacular evening. Thank you Lori for all that you do for others around you (students and staff alike). She is always reasonable, an excellent communicator, with a very loving soul! The Bulldog community is more than fortunate to have such an extraordinary staff member like Lori!
Feel Good Launch-Unfortunately it was after some people already left :-( We have such a great staff!

Autobiography of Colette Ybarra
I have worked here at Bowman for 7 1/2 years and loved every minute of it. I worked at the Administrative Center in the Special Education Dept before I worked here. I was there for four years and loved every minute there as well. I was a stay at home mom before that for 14 years working at the kids' school as a room mom, yearbook advisor and on the PTA. I did achieve and receive my AA in Liberal Arts. BUT all in all my favorite job was raising my kids and making memories with them.
I have three kids, Tyler, who is 25 years old. He got engaged to his soulmate Devin this past summer in July at Lake Tahoe. The wedding will be in May of 2019!! <3 Chad is 23 years old and just purchased his first home this month!! Both boys are running the family business with their father and doing amazing! My daughter, Brooke, is attending her junior year at Marymount California University in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. She is studying to become an Occupational Therapist and is currently doing an internship as a Behavior Technician. She is working at a middle school in Long Beach with an 11 year old Down Syndrome student. It is a tough job but she is loving the experience. She is on the womens' soccer team at Marymount and is amazing! She got a chance to play with the semi-pro womens' soccer team Blue Heat this last summer. Very proud of my kids and all of their accomplishments!! Makes a mom proud.
My favorite things to do is to be with my family and friends. We camp a lot with a group of friends that we have known some since high school and the others for over 20+ years. We camp at Carpinteria, motorcycle ride at Cal City, yearly trips to Lake Tahoe (we have a timeshare in Incline Village), and our timeshare in Palm Desert. I wake up every day with a grateful heart <3 that is for sure.
