Hello Blue Devils!
We ALMOST made it! With only a few events left on the calendar, the fall sports seasons came to a screeching halt due to the middle school going virtual due to COVID-19. We had a great season that saw many of our athletes grow and develop into start performers. Please check out the final recaps below.
One major accomplishment this year, it for the first time in our middle school conference, the 8th grade football team finished as MIC champs! They share the award with Logansport and Western as teams with only one conference loss. Congratulations guys!
Before you know it, our winter athletes will begin practices and games. Please see the link below for basketball players. Swimming and wrestling begin later, and more information will be provided at that time!
If you have any questions about anything 'TMS athletics', please email Mr. Leach (cleach@tcsc.k12.in.us) or Mrs. Whitesell (lwhitesell@tcsc.k12.in.us).
We ask that you remain patient with us as things can change quickly. Our goal is to provide as many athletic opportunities as possible while also keeping athletes, coaches, and fans safe!
Thank you,
Mr. Leach

September 29, 2020 @ Hamilton Heights
A punt, a turnover, and simply running out of time spelled trouble for the 7th Grade Blue Devils, who lost to Hamilton Heights by a score of 14-6. The offensive charge was led by QB Izayah Mahaney and RB Chace Hussey, who scored Tipton's only TD. Unfortunately the Devils couldn't put any points on the board in the second half. Defensive standouts were Will Wolford and linebackers Mahaney and Hussey. Solid efforts were also turned in by Nathan Hawkins, Jayden Key. The 7th grade finished their season with a record of 4-2.
8th Grade:
The 8th grade avenged yet another 2019 loss, defeating the Huskies by a score of 8-0. The first half was a back and forth affair, with neither team being able to mount much offense, thanks to stellar defensive play. Fumbles also stopped two Blue Devil drives early. Defensive standouts were Calvin Condict, Cole Hussey, Landon Spidel, and Logan Hufhand. The second half saw the Devils come out with a purpose and drive the field for the game's only TD, scored on a sweet bootleg run by QB Spidel. Spidel also scored a 2pt conversion from the 1 yard line, after a Heights penalty. Solid defensive play from the Devils solidified the 8-0 victory. The 8th grade offensive line was solid all night, thanks to great play from Riley Coleman, Derrick Hill, Branson Adkins, Jacob Cline, and Logan Hufhand. The 8th grade finished their season with a record of 5-2.
8th Grade Blue Devils MIC Champs!
Go Blue Devils!

MIC Tournament
The Blue Devils received a first round by, which put them against the Kokomo Kats in game one of their tournament. The ladies used great communication and teamwork to dispatch the Kats in two sets.
In the championship match, the Lady Devil squared off with Hamilton Heights. The Huskies came out firing on all cylinders, and the Devils couldn't recover; losing in two sets.
White Team
The White team also received a first round by, which put the Devils agains the Kokomo Kats. The Devils were ready to play and came away with the victory, and gained access to the championship game against the Logansport Berries.
Against Logansport, the team struggled to get any momentum. The slow start resulted in a two-set defeat.
September 29th vs. Elwood Junior High
A slow start put the Devils behind early in the first set. Great service by Avery Bitner and Rylea Wetz helped the Lady Devils make a run and battle back for the first set win, 25-22. The second set saw the Lady Devils fall behind early. Unlike the first set, they never found their groove, and the pesky Panthers win set two 25-12 forcing a third set. In the third set, it was all Devils. They easily defeat the Panthers for the math "W", with a final score of 15-4.
White Team
The white team started the evening off with their match with the Panthers. The two evenly-matched squads made for a great show that included a lot of volleys. The Panthers snuck away with the opening set 25-20. In the second set, the Blue Devils returned the favor to win 25-22. In the bonus round, the winner is the first to 15. Down 14-12, Hollyn Wilson and the Devils made the plays they needed to tie the score 14-14. On the final serve of the match, Elwood returned serve, and a miscommunication in the back row doomed the Devils. The Panthers win, 15-15, and take the match.
