Superintendent's Advisory Committee
Thank you to all parents who were able to attend the Superintendent’s Advisory Committee presentation on Tuesday night. The good news is that at this time they have decided not to touch any of Kennedy’s programs. Some of our feeder schools could possibly be affected though. If you would like to see the ideas put forth, you can visit the link below:
Halloween Dance
This week is our first dance of the year, which is exciting. We will be selling tickets for $5 during lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. What is included in the $5? Pizza, water, a DJ, and we have brought back the green screen again where students can take unlimited pictures with their friends and have them printed for them. We do not sell tickets at the door so no uninvited guests try to get in. Students may wear their Halloween costume as long as it is school appropriate.
Halloween Costumes may not have any weapons (swords, guns, knives, etc.) regardless of real or fake or fake blood. Students may not show their midriffs or have shorts/skirts that are too short. No gang or drug content. We need to be able to identify who students are, so no masks cover entire faces/heads.
Students may wear their costumes to school on Halloween Day as well. The same rules apply.
If you would like to help chaperone the dance, please contact the office, 650-482-2409.
High School
Save the Date - Thursday, November 15, 2018
Please join us for our first annual Elective & Club Showcase Night from 7:00-8:30 pm. We would love to have current and perspective families come see all of the cool activities students have been up to, watch some musical and drama performances, and participate in a few projects. Also, since Astronomy Night was such a huge success, we will bring the telescopes and ipads back out again. (Who knew you could hold an ipad up and have it identify everything in view in the sky through an app? Pretty cool!)
At 6:00 pm on that same night we would like to invite our Newcomer and ELD families to come join us for a potluck dinner to learn some tips about how to help your student to be become English proficient.
And... At 6:30 pm in the gym is the 7th grade Grand Canyon Informational Meeting.
