Howler Hub
Vol. 4 Edition 2
Carin's Corner
It is easy in uncertain times to engage in a mental downward spiral. I ask each of you to think about yourself at the very moment you are reading this. I ask you to take just one minute to think of all the things you have overcome in your life, up to this point, that when you were "in it" you didn't think you'd get through. I can think of many moments, personally, where I was afraid, anxious, scared and wondering how I would overcome certain challenges. In times of high anxiety I always stop and think, "You've had these thoughts before, and you've made it through, and everything has worked out...maybe not the way you wanted, etc...but it worked out, and you're here now, facing another challenge that will also work out." If each of us stays rooted in our growth mindset, and we work together, we will get through this as a team. We have a H.O.W.L. of a boat (pun intended), and a H.O.W.L. of a team (also, pun intended).
Please take time to read through this entire Hub - there's some fun stuff (spirit wear, Coyote masks), a request for your amazing ideas, a link to my email address to ask any questions, and some factual information about reopening as it stands today. I am looking forward to riding in this 20-21 boat, no matter what the waves may bring. I have faith in you. I have faith in our Coyote family. We Are CCHS!

Update on 2020 Physical Graduation
We have been informed that the Yuengling Center at USF is not able to hold our graduation in August as planned. We immediately created an alternative plan because we recognize the importance of celebrating our 2020 graduates. We have rescheduled the Class of 2020 graduation to July 24, 2020 at 7:30pm at CCHS Stadium, with each graduate accompanied by two guests. Our “rain date” will be July 25, 2020 at 9:00am. We are determined to make this celebration special and to give our students the opportunity to graduate surrounded by classmates and family, and to walk across the stage.
We have been informed that we can allow staff to come to watch (must be seated on field 6ft apart in chairs), or to come and assist with the graduation ceremony. Please CLICK HERE and let us know if you can attend or can assist. We do need any assistance we can get, and the kids would love to see you all!

Please note that we will not have the final survey results from the 3 choice options presented to families until the morning of July 9th. Once we pull those, we will then be able to determine what sections we can create for Myschool online. We also have to call and verify that the students who selected eSchool truly selected the correct option prior to changing their schedules (there has been some confusion between eSchool/MySchool Online). We will contact all teachers who have any sections converted to MySchool Online courses once we make those determinations.
For perspective:
Our current data as of this morning (we are able to pull the data now each day for our school):
847 total surveys completed (We have 1,602 students enrolled, just fyi)
154 selected "Myschool online" – see breakdown below by grade level
42 are 9th
52 are 10th
39 are 11th
21 are 12th
608 selected "Traditional"
84 selected "eSchool"
Overall % from current surveys completed:
29% are choosing online/eSchool
71% choosing traditional
Percentages if you assume all who haven't completed the survey are choosing "Traditional":
18% Are choosing MySchool Online or eSchool
82% Are choosing Traditional
