Marching Band Information

Marching Band Updates

This week we are focused on preparing for the August 21 pre-game and halftime performances. Prepare yourself for the coming week with the following information:

Halftime Show
We are proud to announce the title of our halftime show, "Any Way the Wind Blows", based on the music of the popular 70's band, Queen. The marching band will be performing "Don't Stop Me Now" and "Bohemian Rhapsody".

SWAG STORE IS OPEN
Click the Link: https://bit.ly/3gIHetg
Every marching band student receives a free shirt that is already covered by the marching band fee and has already been ordered. The store will be open until midnight, Wednesday August 12th. IMPORTANT: The students' names will be displayed on the back of the shirts. The names currently do not appear in the store's images. Delivery date is TBD.

Uniform for Football Games
The 2020 marching season requires the following attire for our band students at football games. Color Guard will have their own requirements.

  • Show Shirt
  • Khaki shorts
  • Jeans (when cooler temps arrive)
  • Tennis shoes

August 21 Football Game
  • Will I be able to attend the football game to watch the band perform?
At this time the athletics department is determining a seating configuration in the stadium that provides safety for the attendees and conforms with IHSAA instructions. More information will be provided as we approach the August 21 game day.

Marching Band Uniforms
This past week a wonderful group of volunteers washed all of the marching uniforms. The uniforms are now ready for the 2021 marching season, but we need a uniform lead. We need someone or a group of people to take ownership of the uniforms and transition Amy Scott’s knowledge while she is still around. Even if you only want to help with part of this position, it will help us fill the need. Please email Travis Sears at marchingbandliaison@fcbands.org if you are interested.

The next scheduled meeting is at 7:30pm on Wednesday, August 19th.
