VPE Family Newsletter
February 2024
VPE Parents/Guardians,
January has been a great month. We celebrated the 100th day of school! I am so proud of how far our students have come in 100 days!
With the 2nd semester comes more rigor, higher expectations, lots of growth and a ton of activities. We know our students will rise to the challenge as they always do. Please remember that consistent attendance is essential for student success. It is important to keep your child home if they are sick (fever free without meds for 24 hours); however, if they are well please send them to school. Please avoid tardiness and early sign outs as much as possible. Students with more than 3 tardies are ineligible for perfect attendance. Our teachers do an excellent job of maximizing instructional time during the day! All class time is important. Thank you for your continued support!
THANK YOU, PTP!
Special thanks to our PTP for organizing TOMS coffee to kick off the new semester (sponsored by the Alford family/Alford Tire) and for decorating for the 100th day! Thank you in advance for the Soup-er Bowl lunch coming up. Thank you also to the weekly office volunteers that come to make copies!

Student Expectations & Discipline
We go over 3 daily expectations every morning: 1) Be Respectful 2) Be Responsible 3) Be Ready for Success. Students are reminded frequently of our expectations for their behavior and the importance of ensuring their learning environment is protected from disruptions.
We believe in helping and guiding our students to become the best they can be! Many times in life, this comes through hard lessons and consequences when mistakes are made. The "mark" system is used at VPE to serve as visual warnings to allow students the opportunity to correct their behavior. Should students not correct their behavior and receive 3 marks, you will be notified of the detention. Parental partnerships are crucial as we help our students learn and grow. It is a privilege to come alongside parents as we shape the next generation of leaders! We do not expect perfection but we do expect students to take ownership of their mistakes and learn from them.
In regards to rewards, students can earn Eagle Bucks for being caught following our rules, showing great effort in school work, being a leader, and more! Students can trade in Eagle Bucks for different experiences at VPE!
We sent our discipline policy home at the beginning of the year, but it is linked below if you need a reminder.
