Check Out What We've Been Up To This Week!

We Just Finished Our First Project!

For the R U Project, students started out discovering if they are who they say they are. Through a variety of personality tests, students uncovered insights into who they are as a learner and member of society. Take a look at the images below to see what we have been doing over the past couple of weeks!

This year the New Tech facilitators attended the New Tech Annual Conference in Chicago and we realized that we needed to change the grading procedures for our course. In the past, students' grades were based on effort and skills. The grade the student received was based more on quantity rather than quality. In an attempt to remedy this situation, we made a plan to adjust grading to represent student skills and knowledge. These are the items that we will assess your student on this year:

-Benchmark assignments

-Final products

-Anything that assesses a skill or student learning

-And one randomly chosen assignment each week

It is important to note that the individual portion will outweigh the group portion of the grade. In essence, your student's grade will reflect what knowledge and skills they have acquired. If you have questions, feel free to email us.
