Australian rock band sensation since 2000
Evermore are an Australian band originally from Feilding, New Zealand. Evermore consist of the Hume brothers: Jon, the voice of the band and lead guitarist and Peter the keyboard player and bass guitarist. Evermore have released three platinum-selling albums. ‘Dreams’ which was released in 2004. ‘real life’ (2006) and ‘Truth of the World: Welcome to the show’ (2009) Evermore have been nominated for seven Aria Awards, and they have won two Vodafone New Zealand Music Awards, Evermore have been very successful in their music carer that in following years they won the APRA Silver Scroll songwritting award.
Evermore started in early 2000 consisting of Jon, Peter and Dann. Jon was born in Australia, whilst his two brothers were born in New Zealand. The three brothers were raised and home-schooled in Feilding, Manawatu. All three were introduced to music at a young age by their parents. The name evermore was taken from the Led Zeplin song ‘The Battle of Evermore’’ in 1999.
In 2000 evermore entered a music competition called ‘Rockquest’ with Richard Higman who was the bands original bass player at the time, the band won the competition and with the money that they received started their own studio called ‘Red Sky Studio’
Evermore’s first EP ‘slipping away’ was released on the 1st of December 2004 in Australia, with 300 copies pressed. However their EP was often played on Triple J and was then able to buy the band much attention that they needed to start a successful carer.

Running was recorded on the 3rd of June 2006 and then later was featured on the album Real Life

Light surrounding you was one of Evermore's very successful singles, released on the 14th of October 2006.
