WMS Weekly Bulletin
January 7-13, 2019
When our kids walk back into our building tomorrow, they will likely be pushing against the structure we have created for them. Do not let this scare you away from re-establishing your classroom expectations and procedures. For as much as they may fight it, they crave knowing what the boundaries are because it is this structure that allows them to feel secure.
- Remember to find the good in each situation, each conversation, each scholar.
- Highlight our kids for showing the qualities of the Wellborn Way: courage, accountability, resilience, compassion, and involvement.
- Remind them that you are here for them and that you will be, for the long haul.
These actions are what sets us apart and what keeps us growing as the greatest school in the universe!
Here's to spring 2019! Let's make it amazing!
Go Warhawks! And, remember, you belong here.

Week in Review
Monday Morning
If you signed up to help Mr. Miles in the gym, please be ready to go at 7:45 AM. There is some setup needed, so arrive approximately 10 minutes before then.
Supporting Mrs. Merchant
We will be collecting money to purchase HEB gift cards to help with family meals until she has a better idea of any physical needs for their home. If you would like to donate, please bring your money to Mrs. Todaro in the counseling office.
Counselor's Corner
Jan. 15th: Counselor to present to current 7th graders about registration for 2019-2020 via 7th grade science classes in the LGI.
Jan. 22nd: Parent Night for registration & Course Fair. Department Chairs-please make sure you have a plan for this evening.
From SPED
If you think we might have missed someone, please email McMurry for IEPs or Hackethorn for 504s by Friday, January 18th with the scholars name and period, and we will make sure we put them in your folder. If you have any other questions, email McMurry!
Technology Tip - Schoology Parent Codes
Click this link to see the steps (and dynamic image!) on how to locate the parent codes in your Schoology course or read the information below! This should only be necessary if a student is new to the district, but some parents might not have signed up earlier in the year and have decided to now.
MLK March
Also, if your organization does want to participate, we would love for your scholars to wear their school organization’s shirt. Schools from all over the Brazos Valley will be in attendance.
Staff Attendance Challenge and AESOP Reason Codes
Not sure how to code your absence? Check out THIS CHART to make sure you are entering it correctly.
RTI Tier II Instruction Plan
Starting in February, we will run a four-week series of tutorials DURING THE SCHOOL DAY on Wednesdays to help our scholars who need extra support in the four core content areas. For our other scholars, we will provide extension activities. Details are forthcoming.
Please mark your calendars for the following dates as we will have an alternate schedule on these days: February 13, February 20, February 27, and March 6.
