2022-2023 Staffing Allocations
The Human Resources Department is here to provide continued support to hiring managers/principals and the schools we support. In this effort, we have updated the 2022/2023 staffing allocations as of October 14, 2022, to reflect the correct job titles for Class Size Aides, Teacher Assistants – Kinder, and Paraprofessionals. The updated staffing allocations can be found on the S Drive (S:\PERSONNEL\HUMAN RESOURCES\HR 22-23 Staffing Allocations).
We have also created a summary overview to help understand each position and how each position is allocated. Attached, you will find a copy of each job description.
Teacher Assistant – Pay Grade N01
- A Teacher Assistant is a position that supports Kindergarten classrooms only.
- Each Teacher Assistant is approved and determined by the number of kindergarten classrooms/number of kindergarten students.
- Once a principal confirms the number of kindergarten classrooms and the class size, they will request a Teacher Assistant through the Area Superintendent. The Area Superintendent will then submit the request to the Executive Director of HR.
- A Teacher Assistant is placed on the Salary Schedule as a Pay Grade N01 based on the job functions/requirements of the position.
Class Size Aide – Pay Grade N01
- A Class Size Aide is a temporary/sunset classroom (1st – 5th) support position.
- Each Class Size Aide is approved by semester only and determined by the number of students in each classroom.
- A classroom in grades 1 and 2 must average 28 students or greater to qualify for a 4-hour Class Size Aide.
- A classroom in grades 3, 4 and 5 must average 30 students or greater to qualify for a 4-hour Class Size Aide.
- Once a principal confirms the class size, they will request a Class Size Aide through the Area Superintendent. The Area Superintendent will then submit the request to the Executive Director of HR.
- A Class Size Aide is placed on the Salary Schedule as a Pay Grade N01 based on the job functions/requirements of the position.
Paraprofessional (Educational Assistant) – Pay Grade N05
- A Paraprofessional (formally known as an Educational Assistant or EA) helps provide instructional support to Regular Education and Special Education Teachers.
- Paraprofessional-SPED
- Paraprofessional-Preschool
- Paraprofessional-Reg Ed
- Paraprofessional-ELL
- Paraprofessional-Title
- A Paraprofessional is approved and determined by Board-approved formula and based upon the needs at each school.
- Once a principal confirms the need, they will request a Paraprofessional through the Area Superintendent. The Area Superintendent will then submit the request to the Executive Director of HR or the Executive Director of Special Education.
- A Paraprofessional is placed on the Salary Schedule as a Pay Grade N05 based on the higher level job functions/requirements of the position.

A D11 Engage DID YOU KNOW?
ALL individuals who are providing service in ANY District 11 school without compensation from District 11 must be registered as a District 11 volunteer per board policy IJOC and regulation IJOC-R.
Registration and Types of Background Checks
Registration – Individuals seeking to volunteer for the District shall register with D11 Engage. Here is the link to the online registration form. https://cssd.ezcommunicator.net/edu/cssd/ezcomm/VolunteerRegistration.aspx?app=0
Individuals must submit to a background check upon registering as a new volunteer. There are two types of background checks depending on the nature of the services provided by the individual.
Preliminary Background Check – A background check that is conducted based on the name and date of birth of an individual. This type of background check accesses the criminal database, civil records, driving records and the sex offender registry. Preliminary background checks shall be run every 5 years for individuals volunteering with District 11.
Extensive Background Check – A background check that requires fingerprints to be taken in addition to the name and date of birth of an individual. This type of background check accesses the Colorado Bureau of Investigation/Federal Bureau of Investigation (CBI/FBI) criminal records, as well as civil and driving records. Extensive background checks shall be run every 5 years for individuals volunteering with District 11 who are accompanying students on an overnight field trip and/or are serving in a capacity where they are not supervised by District 11 staff.
