Celebrating Inclusive Schools Week Dec 2-6

Husky Families,

We will be celebrating Inclusive Schools Week, Dec. 2-6th with 'all hands on deck' in a variety of ways throughout the week. Specifically, teachers will be incorporating books during morning meeting and fostering discussions about disability awareness. We would also encourage families to read and have discussions at home with your child(ren). We will be hosting Josh Sloan along with other athletes from sportable on Friday, December 6th as a whole school assembly.

Holiday Support for Students @ Chalkley Elementary School

The staff at Chalkley Elementary School has asked us to consider supporting their students and families in a different way this Holiday season than our traditional Angel Tree. Instead of buying gifts for their preschool students they are requesting items from the list below. Items do not have to be wrapped- they can be dropped off in our main lobby any day from now until Monday, Dec 9.

Chalkley will be hosting a Winter Market for parents to come and shop for gifts for their children or themselves. We very much need donated items to support this initiative! Some ideas might be:

- New or GENTLY used toys

- Clothing, girls and boys, sizes 4T - Adult M

(ages 5-11)

- Books and games

- Multicultural Dolls/Figures

- Arts & Crafts Supplies

- Sports Equipment

- Homegoods

- New bedding and pillows

- New towels

- Food pantry items (shelf-stable food)
