Wasco Families,

The kids had the day off on Monday, but the teachers and I were here to do some collective learning. Our learning focused on working as a collaborative team and our content standards, but we also discussed Executive Functioning. Our goal is to ensure that students are ready to receive the lessons we prepare, and teaching Executive Functioning skills engages students in their role as a learner. Author Visit

Last Friday, author Kate Hannigan visited our school to discuss the origin of stories and the writing process. During a conversation with our students, she asked a primary class, “Why do we read?” There were many clever answers, but my favorite was “To learn and laugh.” Thank you to the PTO for providing the visit!
