Parents & Guardians:
I hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Looks like we are all gearing up for Super Bowl Sunday. There was lots of buzz around school this past week as we built up the momentum for the big game. I hope you can find the time to sit back and relax and be a fan – and, yes, make sure the kids get to bed early since Monday is a school day. Congratulations to Cody and Benjamin for winning our Super Bowl baskets. Go Patriots…
I hope everyone is having a great weekend…

Special Happenings
PTO’s Box Top Contest:
The PTO is holding a box top collection contest for all grades and the winning homeroom will be treated to a special breakfast!
Box tops are due in by Feb 15th. Homeroom teachers have collection envelopes to put them in. If you can send them in counted and labeled with the amount, it would be extremely helpful.
Each one is worth 10 cents and they really add up! PTO collects these in the office ALL YEAR LONG.
PTO & Pizzeria Uno:
Dine at Pizzeria UNO’s in Sturbridge anytime in February or March and the PTO will earn 20% of food sales.
UNO’s ticket must be brought with you and can be printed off below by clicking on “Click Here.”
SEPAC Information:
Join the DC-SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) for a FREE presentation by the Bureau of Special Education Appeals (BSEA). The BSEA presentation will provide an overview of the special education mediation process. BSEA Mediator, Steve Lilly-Weber, will be presenting.
This presentation is during February break: Tuesday, 2/19 6:30-8pm @ Dudley Middle School Auditorium.
The BSEA, which derives its authority from both federal and Massachusetts statutes and regulations (the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act; "IDEA"; MGL ch.71B; Section 504 of the Rehabiliation Act of 1973) conducts due process hearings and renders Rulings and Decisions concerning eligibility, evaluation, placement, individualized education programs (IEP), provision of special education and procedural protections for students with disabilities.

Bus Swaps & Pick-Ups:
Over the past few weeks, we have had a large influx of bus swap requests which causes some overcrowding of buses. There also has been issues with students being picked up by another student’s parent without any notification to the school.
We do understand that life happens, and it may be necessary to make these swaps. We want to be a part of making a students’ life easier and safer in regards to transportation after school. Please read and be aware of the following guidelines to request these changes:
- ALL bus swaps should be for child watching purposes only.
- We need NOTES from BOTH the parent of the child(ren) needing to swap, as well as the parent of the child where the child is going.
- For PICK UPS: If you are having your child picked up by another parent please send in a note to the school so we are aware of this change.
