Disciples of Christ
Things are really rolling along in fifth grade. As the students finish up fifth grade "boot camp," they are ready to take on more responsibility as learners. I am seeing the quality of work improve as they understand what is expected from a fifth grader. I am so proud of them and look forward to a year of great growth.
I can't believe it's almost October! With the new month will come MAP testing. Our window is October 10th-12th during the morning. If possible, please don't make appointments during this time.
Take notice of our precept below. This stems from our current read aloud Wonder by R.J. Palacio. We will have a new precept each month that flows from this wonderful book. These words of wisdom will keep the students mindful of how to treat each other and themselves. Love, faith, respect, responsibility, and service permeate who we are as a family of families here at St. Mikes. We are disciples of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your efforts in checking your child's planner nightly. This connection continues to develop the habit of time management and homework completion.
Please take a look at your student's "Top Secret Passwords" sheet in the binder. Practice logging in to all these electronic resources so you can fully utilize what is available.
We are still looking for a stage manager Monday and Wednesday from 9:00-9:45 beginning in mid-october. No experience necessary. Let me know if you are interested.
When given the choice between being right or being kind, choose KIND.
