Plympton Family Update
February 2, 2024
From the Plympton Admin Team
Hello, Families!
We are very close to the 100th day of school! The amount of growth the students are showing from September to now is incredible!
Our January Community Meeting focused on Habit #3: Put First Things First. We are learning how to work first, then play. Students are identifying the "big rocks" - the most important things. This mornth, students led the warm-up for the entire school! Our January Leaders of Month were celebrated and we also shared a change for morning announcements beginning next week. Starting on Monday, our morning announcements will be delivered by some of our fifth grade students. We love seeing the ownership students are taking in making and maintaining a positive school climate.
We are very excited about the Wizards game at Kennedy Middle School tonight! We had a visit today from a Wizards player named Lunatic! Mr France and Mr. Gary will be representing Plympton Elementary School on the staff team. Our Kindergarten students gave Mr. France and Mr. Gary a great send-off! We'd love to see Plympton families in the stands!
Be sure to check out the Community Section of this newsletter - lots of great programs happening at the Waltham Public Library and beyond!
Next year's school calendar can be accessed here: https://www.walthampublicschools.org/o/wps/page/district-calendars
Report cards for Kindergarten and 1st grade students were sent home today.
Have a great weekend!
Be kind and go Penguins!
Sincerely,
Adrienne Norris and Amanda Brennan

When your student's after school dismissal arrangements change, please send a note to your child's homeroom teacher. If you prefer to email, please also include our fabulous secretary, Mrs. Conneely, at meghanconneely@walthampublicschools.org. Mrs. Conneely and Officer Dani double check every bus list every day and cross check with the attendance for the Champion after school program to be certain kids are getting to correct location after school. Please make every effort to communicate any changes as early as possible. Calls after 2:30 slow down our dismissal process.
All student must ride the bus they are assigned. Students may not switch buses.
