Mrs. Akers' Top Three - Ep. #422 - 2/11/2022

Valentine's Day

We will not be having a Valentine's Party at school, however, we will set aside a brief time at the end of the school day on Monday, February 14, for students to exchange valentines. If you choose to send your child with valentines for their classmates, we ask that you send enough for all of the students in the homeroom and label them all "To: My Friend, From: (Your child's name)". This will aid in passing cards out quickly and easily. A small store-bought and individually packaged candy or food item may be included, but nothing large or home-made. We will not be eating any candy or treats at school. All Valentines will go home with your student so that you can make the best decision about if and/or what your child eats.

Morning Drop Off

As a reminder, instruction at Rennell begins at 8:40. Our expectation is that all students are in their seats, ready to learn by 8:40. If your student arrives to school in a mode other than the school bus, we need your help to ensure your student is on campus by 8:30, which will afford enough time to walk to class. Students arriving after the 8:40 bell has rung will be counted tardy.

Thank you for ensuring your child gets to school prior to 8:40 so they have time to walk to class, get seated, and be ready to learn.

Upcoming Dates!

  • Tuesday, February 15 - Marco's Box Night - PreK
  • Friday, February 18 - Teacher Work Day (Student Holiday)
  • Monday, February 21 - Professional Day (Student Holiday)
  • Friday, February 25 - Name that Book School Contest
  • Friday, March 4 - Rescheduled Father/Daughter Dance

The Superintendent’s Fun Run returns for its ninth annual fundraising event on April 9! Registration for the highly anticipated community event, which features a 5K run, a 1-mile family-friendly course and a fun-filled kids zone, is now open. The event will take place at the Berry Center, with the 5K winding through Towne Lake and Lone Star College-CyFair. Sponsor and vendor booths, food trucks, bounce houses and student performances will make the day even more special for the thousands of community members in attendance.
