What We Worked On
Read Aloud- We continue to work on our unit of Nursery Rhymes. We've continued to teach rhyming words, but do not expect the children to really identify rhyming pairs right now. You can continue this skill at home by playing some rhyming games at home. We've also continued to work on sequencing events in the nursing rhyme.
Skills- We reviewed the letter "K" and the number "9". We've continued to review all our colors and shapes. We've also continued to work on our January assessments. We will be sending home Progress notes at the end of the month. If you'd like to have a conversation with me about your child's progress, please let me know and we'll schedule a time to talk.
What Can I Do?
It's cold and flu season. All of our children have been fighting battles with colds and viruses. You can help us by teaching your child to cover their mouth and nose into their elbow, using a tissue to wipe their nose, and wash their hands after using the bathroom. We've been showing them at school

Sickness
Please let us know when your child will not be able to attend school. It helps us to track what's happening in our room and it let's us know if we need to wait for a bus in the morning. Thank you!
Closings and Delays
If your home district closes or delays, your child will also have a snow day or delay. Please contact First Student to determine when the bus will arrive for pick up.
If Gouverneur dismisses early, your child will also be dismissed early. I will again let you know through Remind.
If your home district dismisses early, but Gouverneur does not, your child will remain in school until 2:30. You are welcome to come and pick your child up though.
Dressing for the Weather
It can also be on the cooler side in our classroom so you might want to send in an extra sweatshirt for your child to keep here.
Remind App
If you have used Remind in the past with me, please update to our class for this year. Here's what you need to do:
- Send a text to the number 81010 with the message @3h29992
- Download the Remind app and then put in the code "@3h29992" to join our class.
