Trucks are Better Than Cars

trucks are better than cars
In my personal opinion trucks are better than cars. There are many different uses for them and they come in all shapes and sizes for what ever job you need done. They are far more useful than a car in almost any aspect and i would choose a truck over a car every time because of these following reasons.
Now unlike cars, trucks have no problem getting through the snow. The reason for that is they are heavier so instead of floating on top of the snow they go straight to the bottom where all the traction is. In fact trucks are so good in the winter they help other cars through and pull them out.
They also have no problem with off road conditions weather it be mud, creeks, trees, sand, or even just dirt. trucks have a higher ground clearance than cars, therefore they don't get hung up on small obstacles or have to worry about hitting there frame on something or just dragging it on the ground. You may think "why would that matter?", well when your frame hits something or something is forcing it not to move your car wont go anywhere.
You may be thinking "there has got to be something else helping?".Well to answer your question there is, it is a system called 4-wheel drive. What that means is that there is an additional gear box behind your transmission that is called a transfer case. When the transfer case is engaged it spins another drive shaft. That drive shaft is mated to a live axle in the front end that enables the front tires to turn. Now instead of only having two rear tires trying to get you around, you have all four looking for traction. This then doubles your chances of traction.
Now not only are you behind the wheel of an ultimate traction machine, your behind the wheel of a vehicle that has a 6-8 foot long cargo space. This is the part that makes a pickup truck a pick up truck, you can put almost whatever you want back there. If you wanna move hay, haul a motorcycle or four wheeler,or maybe move a friend from house to house you can. You can throw just about anything you want back there, the possibilities are almost endless.
Pick up trucks even come in all different shapes and sizes to fit what ever job you want to put them up to. They come as little single cab short beds all the way up to the full size one ton heavy duty crew cab long bed and all sizes in between. Not only does the size of the truck have verities but you can choose what engine is in it too. Some trucks come with little four cylinder engines if you are planing on light work and good gas mileage. Then others come with monstrous engines like V8s and diesel engines equipped with a heavy duty transmissions and low gears to pull what ever your heart desires to hook up to the back of it
When the loads get even bigger then just the cargo space in the back you can put a tow package on it. This makes your truck capable of hauling a trailer witch then opens up a whole new world of owning a truck. Now you can hook a trailer up and haul whatever your truck is capable of. Some trucks are only rated for small loads like hauling lawn mowers, and others are rated to haul 30 foot goose-neck horse trailers with living quarters.
When it comes to doing maintenance/repairs you will find that it is much easier due to the fact that the engine bay is bigger. This makes it easier to fit wrenches or what ever else tool you need where ever you need it. Trucks are also much easier to work on from underneath because of the width of the vehicle, it leaves more space rather than cramming everything into a small compact car leaving no space to work.
Now you may think that all these things are rough on a vehicle and they are, but trucks are made to be all around more durable for the daily wear and tear they receive. they have a leaf spring rear end to compensate for all the weight they have to handle and heavier duty brakes to stop the weight. this all means longer lasting, trucks are all around heavier duty from the engine to the transmission and even the body. Most trucks still have steel bumpers in the rear and front witch then makes them stand up to impact better.
There is although a problem with all this heavy duty reinforcements comes more weight. More weight means worse gas mileage, not to mention the engines are usually thirsty V8s. This is one of the major problems of owning a truck and it is enough of a problem for most that they wont purchase a truck. But me i say its worth the price.
Now that i have got all my points across i hope you see the truth in the statement trucks are better than cars!
