Powerful Learning in a Peaceful Environment

The Lost and Found is overflowing already! Please stop by school and look for things that belong at your house.

Spelling Bee

The oral Spelling Bee was held this morning. The winner of the spelling bee was Henry Gates. Congratulations Henry! Henry will move on to the district Spelling Bee that will be held on Dec. 6th at Lincoln Park Middle School at 1:00pm. Sawyer Freundschuh took 2nd place. Ariana Shahmammadli was the winner for the 4th graders. Thank you to our judges Mrs. Norton, Mrs. Huibregtse and Mrs. Lofstuen and our moderator Mrs. Westerberg.

Immunization student exclusion

The district recognizes that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought about many challenges, including students not having access to receive their required immunizations on schedule. Because of this, the district is extending the exclusion date for those who are not up to date with their required immunizations to December 19, 2022. Please use this extension time to schedule your student’s appointment for immunizations. Immunizations must be completed by December 18, 2022 so your child can attend school on December 19, 2022. The nurse from Congdon has been trying to reach you if your child is not compliant with their immunizations.

It definitely feels like winter. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather...winter jacket, mittens, hats, and boots. Snow pants are also important once we have snow on the ground and frigid temperatures. We go out every day unless we have temperatures or wind chills below -15. Hopefully we don't have to worry about those conditions for awhile.

November News in the PTA

October has ended and so has our Fall Fundraiser! If you haven't donated, don't worry; you can still send in a donation anytime. We are still adding up totals from everything but from electronic payments, we received a total of $7,282! Thank you so much for stepping up and helping fund our PTA. This will allow us to do wonderful things for our school and students.

Thank you to the parents who have offered to help out in our various committees. We will continue to post volunteer opportunities for specific events and dates, but these committee volunteers are very necessary to allow us to actually plan events and participate in programs. If you are curious about our committees, please check out the descriptions on our website at

Coffee with Kathi is back! Please join us on Tuesday, November 15 at 8am in the school cafe to have some coffee with Principal Kusch Marshall and ask her your burning questions. Pasties and coffee will be provided.

Our November PTA meeting will be an evening session at 6pm on Monday, November 28.
