He has over 324 million Instagram followers and over 38,000 Twitter followers.
McTeacher Night was a HUGE Success

6th Graders go to Maywood
In February, 6th grade students took an exciting field trip to Maywood in Sheboygan. The purpose of the trip was to learn about the ecosystems in nature. Students got to look and feel some animal skins and discussed how they survived during the winter using adaptations. Then students tried to keep their own pretend organism, that was made out of jello, alive outside in the cold. One way students kept their organism alive was by burying it in the snow. The snow acted as an insulator to prevent it from cooling. After that, talked the staff at Maywood about some ways that animals survive in the winter by where they live. Some other things that students got to try at Maywood were snowshoeing, broom ball, fire starting and fort building. Students also got to enjoy a warm cup of hot cocoa.
When the 6th graders came back they did a reflection of their experiences. Jacob K said, "The best part of our day was snowshoeing." Hayven B. learned that, "Some animals have many adaptations during the winter months." Clayton N. stated, "The best part of my day at Maywood when we had the jello and had to make it survive the winter."
Overall, it was an unforgettable adventure that the 6th graders will remember forever.
Brand New at Farnsworth: Girls Who Code
by: Panther Press Staff
Girls Who Code is on a mission to close the gender gap in technology and to change the image of what a programmer looks like and does. Their goal is to build the largest pipeline of future female engineers in the United States.
This organization has over 185,000 participants nationwide. Farnsworth's chapter just began last week. The girls meet on Thursdays in room 124. Mr. Frame co-leads the group along with Erin Allen from Sargento. Stop by and learn something new this week!
Librarian's Corner: Virtual Reality
by: Amanda Staron
Do you ever wish you could live in another world, at least for a little while? Come try out virtual reality in the library after school!
With our Oculus Rift system, you can put on a headset and see a virtual world in three dimensions. We have all kinds of activities you can try on the Oculus, like these:
Draw in 3D with TiltBrush, or sculpt with virtual clay using Medium
Explore the wonders of the world with Google Earth -- visit the Taj Mahal or make yourself dizzy looking down into the Grand Canyon
Try out a flying simulator (Ultrawings) or sailing simulator (VR Regatta)
Hone your sense of rhythm with music games like Beat Saber or Audica
The Oculus Rift is available for use after school most days except Wednesdays. It’s a popular activity, but you can guarantee yourself a turn by stopping at the library earlier in the day to put your name on that afternoon’s user list.
Sledding at Sunburst
by: Jenna Resheske
Since 2008, 7th graders from Farnsworth have taken a field trip to Sunburst. Having been one of these 7th graders this year I can say I sincerely enjoyed the experience. Here’s a quick rundown of the trip. After traveling to Sunburst by bus, you will go to one of three stations. In one station you will observe the friction of those tubing. In another, you will time those going down the hill on stopwatches to investigate their acceleration(increase or decrease of speed). In the third and final station, you will be free to tube as you wish.
The 7th-grade staff supports the trip because of the science of tubing program and it is associated with fun. Mr. Kainz says, “I think it’s an experience that many students might not get the chance to ever enjoy. My most memorable part of the trip will always be beating the students in a race( little factoid, my speed does depend somewhat on mass).”
As amazing as the trip might be, it, like all things comes with a drawback. The Sunburst trip includes a weather factor. There have been years where the trip was postponed due to bad weather. Also, kids need warm clothes, and some students cannot access them. The 7th-grade staff tries to help with that by providing some warm jackets or hats.
Why Should you Subscribe to PewDiePie?
by: Paige Benish
Interviewing Corben Renzelman (official memer, with a bachelor's degree in memeology) and Bradon Simonet (subscriber analyst).
Lately, in the meme and youtube world, we have been hearing a lot of heat from PewDiePie and T-series and their race to be number one in the world of subscribers. If you don’t know who PewDiePie is, he is a youtuber, who has (currently) the most subscribers on youtube. PewDiePie and T- series, who has the second most subscribers in the world, started a race for subscribers. Many people have promoted the public to subscribe to PewDiePie, like Mr. Beast, who is another big youtuber. Here we have two amateuer professional memers who can tell us about this rare phenomenon.
Myself, Paige: “So why would I want to subscribe to PewDiePie?”
Mr. Renzelman: “To ensure a company (T-series) does not take over youtube. I don’t want a company taking over youtube because when people who want to start youtube channels, if they look at the number one youtuber, they will see a company, and not someone who is an independent youtuber, to look up to.”
Me: What makes PewDiePie Superior in comparison to T-Series? What does PewDiePie do/have that is better than T-series?”
Mr. Renzelman: “He is superior to T-series because he makes funny videos on memes, his Sub-Reddit (Google that), and controversies that happen on the internet and Youtube (Pew News). He also donates to modern day problems like child labor in India. He raised 246,000 dollars to that problem to say he does not hate India and knows of the problems in the world and wants to fix them. Another thing, people think is that he hates India because T-series is his leading rival, T-series happens to be India. But he doesn’t, he is just joking and truly does not care who is number one.”
Me: ”Thank you, Mr. Renzelman, here we have a subscribe analysts, who has studied many hours on this phenomenon. Mr. Simonet, do you think PewDiePie will win if the numbers keep going the way they are going?”
Mr. Simonet: “No, the way they (T-series and PewDiePie) are going, T-series will pass in about 20 days. Pewdiepie only gains about 10 to 12 thousand subscribers a day while T-series gains over 30 thousand over one night. Even more, the reason to subscribe to PewDiePie to help him win.”
So now you have it, subscribe to PewDiePie and unsubscribe to T-series.

Things to do During Spring When You’re Bored
by: Shaina Thaves
During spring, we normally think of the typical phrase “April showers bring May flowers.” What we don’t really focus on is the fact that so many teens are bored during this time and need something to do during spring. Here is a short list of few activities you could try!
Have a movie marathon: Sometimes during spring on the weekends, you just need a good movie marathon to kill your time (don’t worry it’s just a metaphor). Maybe a good horror movie or a sappy romance.
Practice your drawing skills: Perhaps you want to be better at drawing. Practicing your drawing skills is a good time killer if you don’t really have that much to do. Maybe, just maybe, you could become an amazing drawer in just a couple months. If not, just keep trying and do your best!
Plant some flowers: Find a place that needs a little sprucing up and ask permission to plant some flowers. You will need seeds or a plant that has already been started, a little shovel, water, and some hard work. You will have to wait until the flowers bloom, but your patience will be worth it.
Do some painting: Another artistic thing that you could do during spring on the weekends is painting. Maybe you’re not the best artist in the world, but you still like to paint. Painting gets your mind and creativity flowing, so you can paint your thoughts onto a canvas.
Bake for your family and friends: Baking is one way to be creative in the kitchen. Find a recipe you would like to make, get the ingredients, follow the steps, and enjoy! Once you feel comfortable in the kitchen, feel free to try more complicated recipes.
Get outside; With the snow almost gone, it is time to get outside! From bikes, to scooters, to rip sticks, to rollerblades, there is no shortage of ways to be active. Find some friends and go to a park (watch out for the mud)!
