Dear Parents & Friends of SFCS,

I hope everyone had good and productive conferences this week. Effective and collaborative communication between parents, teachers and students is so essential for intellectual and spiritual growth to occur for any child. Thank you to all the parents that attended conferences during the past few days and I hope you found them helpful.

Thank you to all the parents and students who donated candy last week for the Candy Bounce Back. While SFCS was not the school that donated the most candy we came in a close 2nd. The big winner in the contest are the troops that will be receiving much of the candy donated through the charity called Operation Gratitude. Very fitting with Veteran's Day occurring on Monday. Thank you to Sea Smiles Pediatric Dentistry for coordinating this activity in our community. St. Francis Catholic School will be in session on Monday, Veteran's Day. Parents are welcome to join the students for a brief flag ceremony at 8:45am in front of the school.

Parents we need your input. Underneath the School Advisory Council section is a survey we need you to complete. It is a survey that is part of our accreditation process. In order for our data to be valid we need a significant percentage of our parents to complete the survey. Thank you in advance for taking a few moments to complete the survey below.

Don't forget about the FSA Pottery Jam this weekend!!! It is going on right now and there are a ton of great pieces of pottery to paint. Check out the flyer below for times to paint for the remainder of the weekend. All the proceeds raised by the FSA Pottery Jam are donated to the Fine Arts Department to support and grow that program. Thank you to the FSA and Mrs. Sweeney for coordinating this fun event every year!!!

Have a great weekend and stay warm!

Sincerely in Christ,

Brian Pope

Principal

Introducing the Women of St Francis and Friends cookbook. Developed from the Soup for Scholarships event, this cookbook features many of the delicious soups and breads offered there.

The cookbooks will be available for sale after Masses on the weekends of November 16/17 and again on December 7/8. At only $10, you’ll want to pick up one for yourself and several more for Christmas gifts. With each purchase you can also download a free e-book to your tablet or phone.

Calling Any Student Volunteers!!!

The Women of St. Francis would like some student volunteers to assist selling cookbooks on the Church Plaza on November 16/17 or on December 7/8. Students need to be in their school mass uniform. Students that volunteer made earn service hours (middle school) or a NUT Card. Only if they are in their mass uniform of course :)

Attention Parents!!! We need your Participation!!!

This year SFCS will be going through their accreditation internal review. As part of being a fully accredited SACS school through Cognia, formerly AdvancED, SFCS is reviewed interally by the Catholic Schools Office of the Diocese of Charleston. Part of the process is to collect survey responses from parents, students, faculty and community members. The data collected from your responses are used in the internal review process to assist SFCS in strategic planning and school improvement. Thank you in advance for your participation in this very important survey and continuous improvement process. Click the link below to start your survey.
