Ms. Gal, FJH Counselor
I meet with students individually, in groups, and will also sometimes visit classrooms as a whole. I am passionate about helping students overcome any barriers that they may face, achieve at their full potential, and become the best versions of themselves.
Part of my mission is to reach all students in all areas of counseling, which I strive to do by providing a comprehensive, data-informed school counseling program within the school that prioritizes the mental health of my students. I believe that lasting, impactful relationships are the foundation for real change.
I love being a school counselor because I get to meet so many students and hear the stories that they have to tell. I know that middle school is not always easy, so I am always here if you need support, need to problem solve, or just need to vent!
Mr. Maarouf, FJH Counselor
As a school counselor, I work with all students to address academic, career and social/emotional development needs by designing, implementing and evaluating a comprehensive school counseling program.
I tend to build a connection with my students through individual and group counseling, classroom lessons and consultations. I collaborate with teachers, administrators, community partners and parents to advocate, and help promote an equitable and a safe learning environment to empower our students to be successful.
Building relationships with the students is my favorite part of being a school counselor!

The week of February 8th we will be conducting the Spring round of NWEA testing – which must be taken in person at the school. We will have an altered NWEA schedule for this week:
Some things to note:
· We will be testing the students in the RED group on Monday (2/8) and Tuesday (2/9) while they are in the building
· We will be testing the students in the BLUE group on Wednesday (2/10) and Thursday (2/11) while they are in the building
· Students who are learning virtually for the day will have a break from class from 9:10-11:10. Students are to work on any homework, projects, or missing assignments during this time.
· Classes will follow a different order this week, so please look at the schedule carefully.
· If your student is in the 100% virtual cohort, you have received a Skylert message with options for testing for those students. Please fill out the form in that Skylert message so that we can adequately prepare for students coming into the building.
