Helping you stay informed about our district.
Aberdeen School District No. 5 -- December 3, 2021
"We are very grateful to our Aberdeen Police Department and to Ms. Riley for making the time to share this valuable information and guidance with our students," Superintendent Alicia Henderson said.
"We are committed to a safe and secure learning environment for our students and staff," she added. "We are developing several initiatives involving responsible use of technology. In this newsletter and the coming weeks we will be sharing information about training and outreach for parents, staff and students."
Family Night planned at Miller Junior High on Dec. 15
Each student will be issued their own Yondr pouch to secure their cell phone during the school day. Students will maintain possession of their devices, but won't be able to use them during school hours without permission.
All are welcome to join Principal John Meers, Assistant Principal Kasey Robbins, and representatives from the Yondr company for a Family Night Webinar at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15. There will be time for parent questions.

The program will roll out on January 18 with issuance of the pouches.
"We anticipate that this new, everyday routine will result in a less stressful, more focused learning environment at school for everyone," Superintendent Alicia Henderson said.
