  • Midterms-4th quarter midterms were posted online today on Infinite Campus. Please check these and let me know if you have any questions. We don't want any surprises on the final first grade report card. The link to Infinite Campus: http://www.ftcsc.k12.in.us/it/32
  • Gator Gallop/Fun Run-We had a great time! Thank you for making it possible for us to participate! We can't wait to hear how much our school raised! Every student in our class completed 35 or more laps!

Reading/Writing

We read stories about traditions. We studied silent letters, compound words, and our grammar skill was special pronouns. Next week we will be learning about three letter blends and inflectional endings. Our grammar skill will be how to use the words I and Me. Our sight words will be: before, front, heard, push, tomorrow, your.



Your child can work on the Raz-Kids website at anytime for more practice on reading comprehension. If you think your child's level is too easy let me know and I can increase the difficulty. The teacher username is: smitchellav

Math

This week we worked on fractions, study guide, and progress check unit 9. Next week we will work on data, time, money, and mental arithmetic.

*Our goal at the end of first grade is to pass Level 5 in chomputation. There's only 3 more chances left to make the goal.

* We now have an awesome website where your child can practice their own specific level of chomputation on the computer. This website was created by a South Creek parent!!

Science/Social Studies/Health

We studied Geography in Social Studies, including state, country, continent. We continued our chapter on Soil in Science. We learned what soil is made up of.
